DULUX COLOUR AND DESIGN FORECAST FOR 2024
Every year the Dulux Colour team go to the Milan Design Furniture Fair, it's a week long exhibit and is the launchpad of new innovative design. It showcases the latest in design and colour trends that will infiltrate our markets for the coming year.
Dulux released the colour forecast yesterday August 31st 2023 for all that's new in 2024. It's the highlight of my year to see what's around the corner, so I thought I'd share with you one of my favourites.
Within the design world, the Dulux colour forecast is anticipated every year. It helps us as professionals to stay current with new design, colour trends and for what is driving those changes. This year our inner desire for positivity and for spaces that nurture within our home that are the driving factors. The 2024 colour trends feature warm colours with a yellow back hue, pink infused clay hues and reddy browns, olive green and accents of pale blue and zesty yellow.
My favourite colour palette is the one called Solstice (check it out here: https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-trends/2024/solstice/)
'Transform your home into a soothing retreat, the Solstice palette is full of rich and organic hues that can cocoon us and help to evoke feelings of strength and joy. Solstice is influenced by paired back Scandinavian design added with the warmth of colours inspired by the Mediterranean and desert landscapes.'
I love the idea of using spaces within your home to nurture your family and friends, and nothing does that better than using fabrics and colours that wrap around you like a warm blanket. Even better than that, it harnesses feelings of strength and security, and who doesn't want that for their family!
Hard surfaces and square angles are softened with curves and textural elements. Soft furnishings are tactile in nature with velvets, suedes and gorgeous boucle. Everything within this colour palette encourages the creation of a beautiful space, a place to wind down and relax.
